After almost landing a lead role in the feature film “Moonpie” starring Michael McDonald and Stephanie Weir from Mad TV, Jackie was cast as a featured extra. The production company was so impressed with Jackie that they will be flying him to France this summer for a screen test on the upcoming feature film ”Tom Sawyer”. When asked about his goals Jackie responds, “I would like to be a well known great actor and be in a movie with Jackie Chan so I am pushing toward my goal”.

Q: How long have you been interested in acting?
 A:

I always wanted to be an actor, but didn't know the right steps to take. So I decided to give it a try, so I signed up with MovieWork Now and after being an extra in a docudrama, I decided acting is definitely what I want to do. I also was almost picked for the lead role through MovieWork Now in Moonpie, but they found a younger boy to play the role. But they still wanted me to be a part of it, so I was a featured extra. Once I am set on what I want to do, I try my best.

Q: How long have you been with MovieWork Now Casting?
 A:

I signed up with MovieWork Now in 2005. They helped me get out in the acting world. After being a featured extra in the movie Moonpie, a producer and director that helped make the movie, liked my acting and now they want me to go to France for a screen test for a movie there.

Q: What was the auditioning process for the part?
 A:

If I didn't get any lines to practice first. I would dress in something nice that helps me stand out, then they would give you lines to read, and when you go in, you have to be confident, and just make it natural, like its real, really happening. Then if they like what they see, they call you back to read again, but different lines to see how well you do on different scenes. After that they call on the person that they think read the lines in a way that fits the part.

Q: Did you have any experience or training prior to getting the part?
 A:

Yes, I have had a lot of training. I have had a lot of Theater Arts Training with the Gilbert Fine Arts Program and East Valley Children's Theater. And one Class with East Valley Children's Theater on Audition Training. These Classes were about 4-6 weeks long with a Theater Play at the end. I have also had Cold Read Training. I am currently in a Class that teaches Film and TV Techniques by the Phoenix Film Institute.
