Name: John Dollard
Age: 64

City: Scottsdale
State: AZ

Occupation:
Financial Sales Manager

John Dollard recently finished playing an FBI agent for Universal Pictures thriller "The Kingdom" starring Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner. John also completed his first starring role in the Sci-Fi film "Villikon Chronicles" where he played the “The Admiral”. As a new talent with MovieWork Now Casting, John was nervous being cast for a starring role in a movie with little acting experience. In fact, he got so excited and nervous that the director had to get him settled down. When it came to working on the set of “The Kingdom”, John found he wasn’t nearly as nervous. “The Villikon experience really helped me understand all of the activities on the set”.

Q: How long have you been interested in acting?
 A:

My serious interest in acting has been evolving over the last few years. It occurred to me that the need for more mature actors was increasing.

Q: How long have you been with MovieWork Now Casting?
 A:

I have been with MovieWork Now Casting about thirteen months. Considering my serious interest in acting, I needed to be with a group that would help me along. Seriously, the moment I walked in to the office I knew I was in the right place.

Q: What was the auditioning process for the part?
 A:

The auditioning process was interesting and proved the value of my relationship with MovieWork Now Casting. The production company searched the talent database and based on their physical requirements (a mature person) selected me to audition for a lead role. So there I was in front of nine people I did not know, reading for the part of a not-so-nice character and trying to get the intensity needed. I have to admit to being more excited than nervous...but somehow managed to get the role.

Q: Did you have any experience or training prior to getting the part?
 A:

As far as training, I have been fortunate in that I have been doing public speaking for over thirty years and am constantly seeking to improve those skills via workshops, seminars, etc. so inflections, pauses, word shaping and timing were not an issue. Using very sensitive audio equipment was challenging and that took some getting used to.
